Greenlit at SXSW

Greenlit, a short documentary directed by Miranda Bailey and which Synapse's Amanda Marshall executive produced, is premiering at SXSW this Saturday, March 13th. If you are in Austin check it out. The documentary follows production of the film The River Why as it attempts to keep an environmentally friendly set thanks to the supervision of a “green” consultant. What starts off with great enthusiasm quickly devolves in this insightful and hilarious film. To learn more about the project check out http://www.greenlit.org.

Methodfest Sneak Preview Party

Just got back from the Methodfest Sneak Preview Party. They announced all the films in this year's program. Wasn't expecting them to call up the filmmakers to say a few words, but shorts programmer Derek Horne's enthusiasm was contagious. It's great to be a part of a festival that spotlights great acting performances and great to meet some fellow filmmakers participating in this year's program.

Numb cast, crew & friends premiere!

Numb finally had its premiere this past Friday. The screening took place in the beautiful theater at Panavision Woodland Hills. We had two screenings, and about 80 people showed up in support! The response was super positive, and we are now excited to send the film on its festival run.

A big THANK YOU to everyone who came, and particularly to our DP David Mahlmann and his wife Sharon for helping make the screening at Panavision possible.

WONDERFUL WORLD in theaters January 8th!

WONDERFUL WORLD, a feature film Synapse's Amanda Marshall associate produced, is opening in theaters on January 8th.

Directed by Joshua Goldin and starring Matthew Broderick "Wonderful World" is a story about a bitter divorced man, Ben Singer (Matthew Brocerick), who refuses to believe even the tiniest miracle is possible. When his roommate, Ibou, falls ill, Ben is forced to host his Senegalese sister, Khadi (Sanaa Lathan from "Something New" and "Alien vs. Predator") . What starts as an awkward living arrangement soon turns into something more, and Ben's usual self-destructive nature gives way as he begins to find inspiration in the most unlikely of places.

Check out the trailer...and then the movie.
